A warm welcome to the website of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Hong Kong and Macau.
Relations between China and the Netherlands are intense, varied and above all important. The raising impact of China on the world has many implications for the open economy of the Netherlands. Hong Kong continues to play its role as bridge between West and East, and serves as a stepping stone for Dutch companies interested in China or as home for almost 5.000 regional headquarters, many of which are Dutch. Hong Kong is also important for Chinese companies wanting to do business with the Netherlands, or in Europe via the Netherlands.

My staff and I are engaged in all regular diplomatic work, with our focus on economic matters and consular issues. Half of my staff works in the economic field, in close cooperation with an agricultural department, a representative of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency and with a colleague from the Science and Technology section we share with the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Guangzhou.

We of course work closely together with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (located in the same building as the Consulate General) and our many partner organizations, in the Netherlands, in China and in Hong Kong.
